Has a name change to Fire Chefs!  Was a great find!  Husband had Rueben and I had hallie burger and both were exceptional the fries were the best we have had for awhile.  Every meal coming out of the kitchen looked so good.  A must if coming up the Island.

Have been here a few times now. One of my favorite things to eat here is their fish and chips. I don't know if this is normal but wow...  i got a large piece of cod!  Can't really complain about that! I did wish there was a bit more fries that came with it though.   Anyways, the service is always good. I think it is a husband and wife owned and operated place. If so, the lady helping us was always friendly.

    Quality - 3.5/5
    Service - 4/5
    Ambience - 3.5/5

Tried to go there for dinner,  arrived at 8:30 pm.  They were posted to be open till 9 PM.  There were several tables full of people.  Tried to set down at empty table.  We were told they were closed and told to go.  Rude.

We were looking for breakfast around noon for our second last day in Port Hardy. Yelp said the place was closed, but as we drove by and saw people inside, so we turned around, parked and wandered in. Three other tables were occupied so others must have known the place was open on a Sunday.

A very nice waitress offered us menus and we chose, me the Admiral which is basically bacon and eggs, hash browns and toast. They offered sourdough, rye and a home made bread, which I decided to try. The lovely K chose an eggs benny dish and we added ice waters.

The food came fairly quickly, was a good sized portion and all very well cooked according to our specifications. We cannot comment on the lunch portion of the menu but can recommend their breakfast for sure, it was first rate!

I ate here three or four times last week and loved every meal. I was here last year as well and could not wait to have the eggs Benedict with the salmon again. It's called nothing but he fins I believe. I also had the captains platter one day after missing lunch.  I was starved. I even had a sushi roll one day. It was excellent. Actually reminded me of my favorite sushi joint in Honolulu. Everything I ate here was exceptional. I don't give out many five star reviews but when I do it's because I was very impressed with all aspects of my meal. I would have to say my best bite of the week was of my breakfast. I actually took a picture after the bite. I'll post it. I ate at a few other places in town and it was bar food. Captain Hardy's was what I normally get in nyc or something at about twice the price. Can't wait to come back. The staff was friendly as well and normally got me in and out quickly. Thanks all.
